Using our site and games

These Terms and Conditions apply to your access to and use of the Dotabuff website and online computer game services. By using them, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services. Additional terms shown for a particular game or feature apply to that service and form part of this agreement.

In these terms, “we,” “us,” and “our” mean Dotabuff. “You” means the person using our website or services. You confirm that you can legally agree to these terms where you live. If you use a service for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for it.

2. Accounts and access

Some features may require an account. Keep your account details accurate, protect your sign-in credentials, and tell us promptly if you suspect someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless applicable law says otherwise.

Do not create an account using information that belongs to another person, impersonate someone, or attempt to bypass access controls. We may restrict or suspend access when needed to protect users, our services, or the security of an account.

3. Your conduct and submitted content

Use the services lawfully and follow any game-specific rules we provide. You must not interfere with service operations, probe or bypass security, disrupt another person's use, or use the services to violate another person's rights.

You keep ownership of content you submit. You give Dotabuff permission to host, display, and use that content as needed to operate and maintain the feature where you submitted it. You confirm that you have the rights required to submit it. We may remove content that breaks these terms or creates a safety or legal concern.

4. Our games and intellectual property

Our games, site materials, names, artwork, software, and related content belong to Dotabuff or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. We give you a limited, personal, non-transferable permission to use the services for their intended purpose, subject to these terms.

You may not copy, modify, redistribute, sell, or make a derivative work from our materials unless we have given written permission or the law allows it. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership to you.

5. Service availability and third parties

Online services can change, be interrupted, or become unavailable. We may maintain, update, suspend, or discontinue a feature. We do not promise that every game or feature will be available at all times or on every device.

Our services may refer to third-party products or platforms. We do not control those services and are not responsible for their content, terms, or availability. Your use of them is between you and the relevant provider.

6. Suspension and ending access

You may stop using our services at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, create a risk to others or the service, or if we are required to do so by law. Where practical, we will take reasonable steps to explain a restriction.

Terms that by their nature should continue after access ends, including ownership, permitted use, and liability provisions, will remain in effect.

7. Disclaimers and liability

To the extent permitted by law, the services are provided as available, without promises that they will meet every need or remain uninterrupted. Nothing in these terms excludes a consumer right or other protection that cannot legally be excluded.

To the extent permitted by law, Dotabuff is not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the services. These terms do not limit liability where applicable law does not allow that limit. Any rights you have under mandatory local law remain unchanged.

8. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as our services or legal obligations change. We will post the current version on this page and update it when revisions are made. If a change materially affects your use, we will take reasonable steps to give notice through the service or website. Continued use after revised terms take effect means you accept them.

9. General terms

If part of these terms cannot be enforced, the remaining provisions continue to apply. A delay in enforcing a provision does not waive our right to enforce it later. These terms, together with any applicable game-specific terms, form the agreement between you and Dotabuff about the services they cover.

These terms are governed by the laws of California, except where your local consumer protection laws require otherwise. Courts with jurisdiction in California may hear disputes, subject to any mandatory rights you have to bring a claim elsewhere.
